Chứng từ kế toán phải có đầy đủ yếu tố theo quy định.
Ghi chép trên chứng từ phải rõ ràng, trung thực đầy đủ, gạch bỏ phần còn trống.
Không được tẩy xoá hoặc sửa chữa trên chứng từ.
Không được ký chứng khống.
