Sử dụng các công cụ phái sinh để phòng ngừa rủi ro tỷ giá. Thị trường công cụ phái sinh đóng góp cho tăng trưởng kinh tế thông qua việc phát huy tốt các chức năng của hệ thống tài chính, là cầu nối giữa tiết kiệm và đầu tư; sàng lọc, chuyển giao, và phân tán rủi ro; giám sát doanh nghiệp; tăng tính thanh khoản của các công cụ tài chính ,vận hành hệ thống thanh toán thông suốt, phòng ngừa rủ ro về ngoại hối, lãi suất ... Với vai trò của trung gian tài chính, các tổ chức tài chính có thể tăng nguồn thu từ thu phí với tư cách của người môi giới; đặc biệt, khả năng mở rộng, phát triển các hoạt động khác của tổ chức tài chính như huy động vốn, cho vay, dịch vụ thanh toán, tư vấn... cũng tăng cao và hiệu quả hơn. Công cụ phái sinh là một loại hình bảo hiểm rủi ro tài chính khi thực hiện các hợp đồng kinh tế mà bản chất là phân tán rủi ro tiềm ẩn và đương nhiên, lợi nhuận của các giao dịch cùng được chia sẻ cho các bên.
