I.Giới thiệu về Quảng Trị
1. Vị trí địa lý
Quảng Trị là một tỉnh duyên hải, ở vào cực bắc của vùng kinh tế trọng điểm miền Trung, nơi chuyển tiếp giữa hai miền Bắc – Nam. Ở phía Bắc, Quảng Trị giáp tỉnh Quảng Bình, phía Nam giáp tỉnh Thừa Thiên - Huế, phía Tây giáp nước cộng hoà dân chủ nhân dân Lào với đường biên giới khoảng 206 km; phía Đông là biển với chiều dài là 75 km.
Ở vào vị trí trung độ của cả nước, Quảng Trị là nơi mang tính đặc thù về lãnh thổ, khí hậu của cả phía Bắc lẫn phía Nam; lại nằm trên các trục giao thông quan trọng cả về đường bộ và đường sắt.
2. Đặc điểm địa hình

Có 141 xã phường thị trân và nhiều trường học có tổ chức Hội . Cán bộ Hội tại các xã, phường, thị trân có hưởng một khoản phụ cấp .
Hội viên chiếm 4,7% dân dố của tỉnh
2.Về hoạt động
Xuất phát từ thực tế của cuộc sống địa hình của tỉnh qua từng giai đoạn phát triển kinh tế xã hội có những ưu tiên khác nhau . Đến nay tỉnh hội tập trung các lãnh vực chính:Đó là :
-Trợ giúp nhân đạo theo hướng phát triển bền vững ; Trong hoạt động này như Tết vì người nghèo được phát động hàng năm nhân dịp Tết đên để làm quà cho những người có hoàn cảnh khó khăn; Bền vững là cuộc vận động mỗi tổ chức cá nhân gắn một địa chỉ nhân đạo .Theo cuộc vận động này Hội khảo sát các trường hợp khó khăn cần trợ giúp sau đó vận động tập thể ,cá nhân giúp đở trong một thời gian dài từ 2-3 năm hoặc đến tuổi trưởng thành hoặc cả đời .Ngân hàng bò hiện đang thực hiện do TW Hỗ trợ cho các hộ nghèo nhất là các xã vùng biên giới . Theo chương trình này, mỗi hộ được trợ giúp 1 con bò giống và khi sinh ra giao con bê đầu tiên cho hộ khác ở trong xã và cứ thế nhân ra. Ngoài ra còn trợ giúp phương tiện cho người khuyết tật như xe lăn, xe lắc
-Phòng ngừa thảm hoạ, Tỉnh hội tập trung các hoạt động nâng cao nhận thức cộng đồng, tổ chức các đội ứng phó nhanh tại các địa bàn trọng điểm như cùng nhâu dân chân bị sơ tán ,hướng dẫn nhân dân phòng tránh , cứu hộ cứu nạn , đánh giá tình trạng dễ bị tổn thương và năng lực (VCA), vận động nguồn lực để cứu trợ khẩn cấp và phục hồi .

-Từ hội phí chi cho các hoạt động khen thưởng (#200 triệu )
-Từ các nhà hảo tâm chủ yếu cho các hoạt động trợ giúp nhân đạo
-Từ các dự án của UBND tỉnh, của TW Hội CTĐ Việt nam hoặc các Hội quốc gia .(Năm nay chỉ còn phòng tránh tai nạn bom mìn khoảng 300 triệu)
