Tại Việt Nam mưa acid gây ra các vấn đề nghiêm trọng như phát thải các hợp chất acid vào môi trường dẫn đến phát sinh nhiều chi phí để làm giảm thiểu sự ảnh hưởng của các hợp chất đó đối với môi trường. Các hợp chất acid phát thải vào môi trường chủ yếu do các ngành công nghiệp phát triển dẫn đến sự gia tăng lượng nhiên liệu sử dụng từ năm 1990 đến năm 2030.

Để kiểm soát tình trạng phát thải các hợp chất acid vào môi trường thì mô hình RAINS AISA đã áp dụng một số biện pháp, phương án giảm thiểu phát thải nhằm mục đích thống kê các loại nhiên liệu được sử dụng phổ biến trong các ngành công nghiệp từ đó tính toán chi phí cần để giảm thiểu phát thải.
