Thông tin được đưa ra tại hội nghị khoa học về tăng huyết áp và các bệnh liên quan vừa diễn ra do Bệnh viện Tim Hà Nội tổ chức.

Giáo sư Phạm Gia Khải, Chủ tịch Hội Tim mạch Việt Nam cho biết, thống kê tại nhiều bệnh viện cho thấy tăng huyết áp đứng hàng thứ 3 trong số 10 căn bệnh phổ biến nhất. Trong những năm gần đây, cùng với thừa cân béo phì, tăng huyết áp trở thành một vấn đề thời sự, gia tăng rất nhanh trong cộng đồng. Kèm theo đó là các bệnh lý liên quan chặt chẽ như: bệnh mạch vành, phình tách động mạch chủ, tiểu đường... Vì thế, cách điều trị cũng cần thay đổi, điều trị toàn diện.
Theo phó giáo sư Nguyễn Quang Tuấn, Giám đốc Bệnh viện Tim Hà Nội, bệnh này được mệnh danh là "kẻ giết người thầm lặng" vì tăng huyết áp thường xảy ra vào lúc người bệnh không hay biết. Tai biến mạch máu não, nhồi máu cơ tim, suy tim... là các biến chứng nguy hiểm của bệnh. Đặc biệt, sự thay đổi lối sống, ít tập thể dục, ăn nhiều chất có hàm lượng cholesterol cao, hút thuốc lá, uống rượu bia... cũng khiến cho rất nhiều người dù còn trẻ nhưng đã bị tăng huyết áp.

Bên cạnh đó, nhiều người không hề biết mình bị bệnh, chỉ đến khi có biến chứng nặng mới vào viện. Ngoài ra, ở người trẻ biểu hiện bệnh thường không rõ ràng. Người già bị tăng huyết thường thấy chóng mặt, đau đầu, mắt nhìn mờ... Nhưng với người trẻ thì chỉ thấy đau ngực hoặc hơi đau đầu.

Vì thế, phó giáo sư Tuấn khuyến cáo, để phòng ngừa và điều trị tăng huyết áp thì việc thay đổi lối sống đóng vai trò rất quan trọng. Cụ thể, duy trì khẩu phần ăn lành mạnh gồm nhiều trái cây, rau; ít sản phẩm từ sữa, béo; protein từ thực vật; giảm mỡ bão hòa; giảm muối nitrat dưới 1.500 mg/ngày; ít uống rượu; hạn chế hoặc bỏ thuốc lá. Hình thành thói quen vận động thể lực đều đặn, 30-60 phút/ngày; 4-7 ngày/tuần, kèm theo hoạt động thường ngày. Giữ chỉ số khối cơ thể (BMI) ở ngưỡng 18,5-24,9; vòng bụng nam dưới 90 cm, nữ dưới 80 cm.
