Khu đất có tổng diện tích 227ha bao gồm khu liên hợp thể dục thể thao quốc gia Rạch Chiếc chiếm diện tích 180.73ha và phần còn lại thuộc các dự án khác, trong đó diện tích đất giao thông đối nội của khu liên hợp thể dục thể thao quốc gia Rạch Chiếc là 33,1ha (chiếm 18% diện tích khu vực này).
Quy hoạch xây dựng hệ thống giao thông trong khu quy hoạch bao gồm các tuyến chính cho khu vực, các tuyến đường phân khu vực và cả một số tuyến đường nội bộ phù hợp với yêu cầu tổ chức giao thông trong đồ án quy hoạch chi tiết xây dựng đô thị tỷ lệ 1/2000, các tuyến đường nội bộ và chi tiết các nhánh đường nhỏ khác sẽ được thể hiện cụ thể trong quy hoạch chi tiết xây dựng đô thị tỷ lệ 1/500.
Đối với những khu đất đã có dự án như đất dự án Sài Gòn Sports City, đất dự án khu dân cư tái định cư, đất dự án khu liên hợp sân Gofl, thể dục thể thao và nhà ở, đất dự án Tổng công ty Du lịch Sài Gòn không quy hoạch chi tiết mạng lưới đường giao thông và mạng lưới đường giao thông nội bộ tại các khu đất này sẽ phụ thuộc vào quy hoạch dự án được phê duyệt.
