Trong những năm qua, dưới sự lãnh đạo sáng suốt của Đảng và Nhà nước, đất nước ta đang trên đà ngày càng phát triển. Nền kinh tế hàng hoá nhiều thành phần vận hành theo cơ chế thị trường định hướng xã hội chủ nghĩa đã dành được những thành tựu to lớn
Đảng và Nhà nước ta đã xác định nhiệm vụ quan trọng trong thời gian tới là tiến hành công nghiệp hoá, hiện đại hoá nền kinh tế đất nước. Muốn vậy, chúng ta cần phải có nguồn vốn trung và dài hạn lớn để xây dựng cơ sở hạ tầng, đổi mới công nghệ, trang thiết bị kỹ thuật tiên tiến, đồng thời có sự nâng cấp mở rộng sản xuất kinh doanh với các thành phần kinh tế tạo đà phát triển.
Tuy nhiên, có nguồn vốn trung và dài hạn thôi là chưa đủ mà còn phải biết sử dụng sao cho có hiệu quả nguồn vốn đó thì mới phát huy được hết được vai trò tích cực cũng như chống lại sự lãng phí. Nói cách khác: chỉ khi nào mở rộng gắn liền với nâng cao chất lượng tín dụng trung và dài hạn mới phát huy được hết vai trò tích cực của mình.
Nhận thức được tầm quan trọng và lớn lao của vấn đề trên, với những kiến thức đã được học tập, nghiên cứu tại trường và sau một thời gian kiến tập tại Ngân hàng TMCP Sài Gòn Công Thương – chi nhánh Huế, tôi đã chọn đề tài: ” Hoạt động cho vay trung và dài hạn tại NHTMCP Sài Gòn Công Thương – Chi nhánh Huế“.
