Bộ Ngoại giao Việt Nam cho hay Thủ tướng Liên bang Nga Dmitry Medvedev sẽ thăm Việt Nam trong hai ngày 6 và 7/11.
Người phát ngôn Bộ này, ông Lương Thanh Nghị, nói: "Hai bên dự kiến sẽ thảo luận các biện pháp nhằm tăng cường hơn nữa quan hệ hợp tác giữa hai nước trong các lĩnh vực và trao đổi những vấn đề khu vực và quốc tế cùng quan tâm".
Nga và Việt Nam vừa nâng cấp quan hệ lên đối tác chiến lược toàn diện.
Lần trước năm 2010, ông Dmitry Medvedev cũng thăm Việt Nam trong hai ngày 30/10-31/10 trong cương vị Tổng thống Nga.
Trong chuyến thăm lần đó, Nga và Việt Nam đã ký thỏa thuận trị giá khoảng 5,6 tỷ đôla để xây nhà máy điện hạt nhân đầu tiên cho Việt Nam.
Mới đây, ông Vladimir Putin sau khi đắc cử chức Tổng thống Nga đã yêu cầu nâng cấp quan hệ hợp tác quân sự và kỹ thuật với Việt Nam.
Việt Nam được cho là một trong các đối tác tiềm năng nhất về mua bán vũ khí của Nga.
Tổng tham mưu trưởng Quân đội Nhân dân Việt Nam Đỗ Bá Tỵ cũng vừa có chuyến thăm Nga, trong đó ông chứng kiến lễ khởi công lắp đặt tàu ngầm diesel cho Việt Nam.
