Super easy homemade Yogurt
What You Need
Ingredients
(For 12-13 bottles (100ml))
1 liter (1/4 gallon) plain milk — whole or 2% is best, but skim can also be used
100 gram (7/8 cup) plain yogurt containing active cultures
85 gram (3/4 cup) sugar (as your favor)
Equipment
1 Big Bowl used in microwave Oven
12 -13 Small bottles with lids
A Thermo box or an electric cooker
1 Spoon, a funnel, Microwave Oven
Instructions
1. Pour the milk into the bowl
2. Put the bowl of milk into the Microwave Oven.
3. Set the oven at highest heat, in 3 minutes.
4. The milk is heated to about 700C (160°F).
5. Add sugar as your favor (don’t add sugar if you want plain yogurt for diet)
6. Stir the milk gently.
7. Thin the yogurt with milk. Scoop out about a cup of warm milk and add the yogurt. Whisk until smooth and the yogurt is dissolved in the milk.
8. Whisk the thinned yogurt into the milk. Pour the thinned yogurt into the warm milk while whisking gently.
9. Pour the milk into small bottles
10. Cover the bottles with the lids
11. Prepare Thermo box with warm water (40-450C/105-113°F F).
12. Transfer the bottle to the Thermo box (or electric cooker). You can also make the yogurt in a dehydrator left at 110°F or using a yogurt maker.
13. Wait 4 hours or longer for the yogurt to set.
14. Cool the yogurt. Once the yogurt has set to your liking, remove it from the oven.
15. Homemade yogurt will keep for about 2 weeks in the refrigerator.
