1. Cơ sở lý luận và thực tiễn
Từ năm học 2009 -2010 đến nay, môn Tiếng Anh được Sở Giáo Dục và Đào Tạo Bình Định tổ chức thi tuyển sinh vào lớp 10 THPT là một môn học bắt buộc .Thời gian làm bài 60 phút, hình thức thi tự luận gần như 100%, trong khi làm bài thi học kì ở các năm trước trắc nghiệm 100%, có năm tỉ lệ trắc nghiệm 50%, 60% , việc này làm cho học sinh bối rối khó nhận dạng được đề thi và phương pháp làm bài. Việc này đòi hỏi học sinh không những phải vững về kiến thức mà còn cần có các kĩ năng cần thiết để làm bài đạt hiệu quả.
Bộ phận lớn các em không cố gắng, kiến thức dần bị hỏng từ lớp dưới. Chất lượng thi tuyển 10 các năm đều rất thấp vì địa bàn có hai trường công lập tỉ lệ được tuyển vào là 86% cũng tạo cho các em tính chủ quan chưa thật sự nỗ lực. Số các em còn lại thì cố gắng tuy nhiên chưa có được phương pháp học đúng.
Bên cạnh đó giáo viên cũng gặp nhiều khó khăn khi ôn luyện cho các em với khối lượng kiến thức toàn cấp trong thời gian ngắn. Trước thực tế đó, bản thân tôi đã rút ra được một vài kinh nghiệm nhỏ muốn chia sẻ với đồng nghiệp trong đề tài: “ Một số kinh nghiệm ôn luyện học sinh thi vào 10 môn Tiếng Anh”
