Ý tưởng về vận động cho vai trò và giá trị của kiến thức bản địa (KTBĐ) trong thích ứng với biến đổi khí hậu xuất phát từ thực tế là KTBĐ đóng vai trò rất quan trọng trong đời sống xã hội của người dân tộc thiểu số. Đồng thời, trong Chiến lược quốc gia về BĐKH (2011) có đề cập tới việc đẩy mạnh sử dụng KTBĐ trong ứng phó BĐKH.

Việc áp dụng, sử dụng các kiến thức và kinh nghiệm của người dân trong các chương trình phát triển sẽ giúp họ tự tin, do đó góp phần tăng cường sự tham gia và tiếng nói của họ. Các chương trình dự án của trung tâm ADC luôn coi trọng sự tham gia của cộng đồng với mục đích nâng cao năng lực và tiếng nói của họ trong việc đề xuất và giải quyết các vấn đề của họ.

Việc thừa nhận vai trò và giá trị của KTBĐ một cách chính thức trong các chương trình chính sách của nhà nước sẽ góp phần thừa nhận sự đa dạng về văn hóa, phong tục tập quán tốt đẹp của người DTTS.

The idea of campaigning for the role and value of indigenous knowledge (KTBĐ) in adaptation to climate change stem from the fact that KTBĐ plays a very important role in the social life of the minorities. At the same time, in the national CLIMATE CHANGE strategy (2011) mentions promoting the use of KTBĐ in response to CLIMATE CHANGE.The application, use the knowledge and experience of the people in the program will help them develop confidence, thereby contributing to enhancing the participation and voice. The project program of the Center for the ADC always attach importance to the participation of the community with the aim of enhancing the capability and their voice in making suggestions and solving their problems.The acknowledge the role and value of KTBĐ official in the State's policy program will contribute to acknowledge the diversity of cultures, customs and the goodness of the DTTS.

The idea of campaigning for the role and value of indigenous knowledge (IK) in adapting to climate change stems from the fact that the IK plays a very important role in the social life of ethnic minorities skull. At the same time, the National Strategy on Climate Change (2011) refers to the push to use IK in responding to climate change.

The application, using the knowledge and experience of the people in development programs will help them confidently, thus contributing to enhancing the participation and voice of them.
