. DIABETES According to the World Diabetes Federation, in 2017 there were 425 million people in the world. with diabetes, ages 20 to 79. It is forecast that by 2045, this number will increase to nearly 630 million. In Vietnam, the Deputy Minister of Health said that there are currently 3.5 million people living with diabetes. Each year, nearly 29,000 people die, equivalent to more than 80 people/day due to related complications such as cardiovascular, neurological, kidney, blood vessel, eye complications... In 2017, Vietnam spent about 765 million USD for diabetes treatment. However, these are just superficial numbers. It is estimated that there are still 63% of diabetic patients who have not been diagnosed or detected in the community. Currently, type 2 diabetes can be found in very young patients as young as 9-10 years old, 13-14 years old. The main cause is obesity, especially as this condition is increasing in Vietnam
