The general election was again held in Zimbabwe on March 30th, 2008 official results led to a direct competition between Mugabe and Morgan Tsvangirai, the opposition leader, however the MDC opposed the results, claiming widespread fraud in the elections from the Mugabe Government. The second round vote scheduled for June 27, 2008. However, on 22 June, citing the continuing unfairness in the election process and refused to participate in a "violent election process, improper", Tsvangirai withdrew from the second round of the elections, leaving the victory to Mugabe.
