Theo Thống kê của Tổng Cục du lịch Việt Nam tại lễ ký hết kết biên bản ghi nhớ hợp tác giữa Tổng cục Du lịch Việt Nam và Tổng cục Du lịch Hàn Quốc về việc thúc đẩy và phát triển mối quan hệ giao lưu về du lịch giữa hai quốc gia trong năm 2017 ngày 20/10 cho biết, năm 2015, đã hơn 160 nghìn lượt khách Việt Nam tới thăm Hàn Quốc và hơn 1,1 triệu lượt khách du lịch Hàn Quốc tới Việt Nam. Chín tháng đầu năm 2016, lượng khách Việt Nam đi du lịch Hàn Quốc đã tăng 50% so với cùng kỳ năm ngoái, dự kiến đến cuối năm sẽ đạt 240 nghìn lượt.

Trong khi đó, lượng khách du lịch Hàn Quốc đến với Việt Nam cũng tăng 36% và dự kiến sẽ cán mốc 1,5 triệu lượt vào cuối năm nay. Với việc hai bên nhất trí tăng cường hợp tác, lượng khách du lịch qua lại giữa hai nước được kỳ vọng sẽ tiếp tục tăng trưởng mạnh trong những năm tới.
Tổng cục trưởng Tổng cục Du lịch Việt Nam Nguyễn Văn Tuấn trong cho biết, Việt Nam – Hàn Quốc là những đối tác chiến lược, có mối quan hệ tốt đẹp trên nhiều lĩnh vực văn hóa, chính trị, kinh tế.

Việt Nam có nhiều cảnh quan hấp dẫn, văn hóa độc đáo, đặc sắc, con người thân thiện, mến khách, phù hợp với nhu cầu khám phá, trải nghiệm của du khách Hàn Quốc. Cùng với đó, người dân Việt Nam cũng mong muốn tìm hiểu, trải nghiệm văn hóa, cảnh quan tự nhiên của Hàn Quốc. Thuận lợi về visa, đường hàng không… là những điều kiện tốt cho phát triển du lịch hai nước.

Nói về tiềm năng phát triển của thị trường du lịch Việt Nam, Tổng cục trưởng Tổng cục Du lịch Hàn Quốc Jung Chang Soo cho biết, thị trường Việt Nam dù mới chỉ đang chiếm 1,4% tổng số lượng khách quốc tế đang đến với Hàn Quốc, nhưng là thị trường có tốc độ tăng trưởng đạt tới hơn 50%.

Ông tin tưởng rằng cùng với sự hợp tác tích cực giữa hai bên, thị trường khách Việt Nam sẽ tiếp tục có những tăng trưởng đáng kể trong thời gian tới.
