1.2.6 - Dịch vụ thanh toán biên mậu
Là ngân hàng thương mại đầu tiên triển khai hoạt động Thanh toán biên mậu với các nước có chung biên giới, nhiều năm qua, Ngân hàng Nông nghiệp đã và đang trực tiếp góp phần thúc đảm bảo an ninh tiền tệ khu vực vùng biên.
Ngay từ năm 1996, Ngân hàng Nông nghiệp đã sớm triển khai Thanh toán biên mậu (hay còn gọi là thanh toán qua biên giới) trong nghiệp vụ Thanh toán quốc tế của ngân hàng. Đây là một trong những bước đi quan trọng mang tính đột phá nhằm hỗ trợ khách hàng là các doanh nghiệp và cá nhân trong thanh toán hàng hoá xuất nhập khẩu với đối tác nước ngoài, đồng thời góp phần đảm bảo an ninh tiền tệ ở khu vực vùng biên.
Năm 2006, Ngân hàng Nông nghiệp tiến hành thanh toán biên mậu với Campuchia thông qua thoả thuận hợp tác với Ngân hàng ACLEDA (Campuchia). Ký kết thoả thuận thanh toán biên mậu với Ngân hàng Phongsavanh (Lào) ngày 03/6/2008 và chính thức triển khai tại Chi nhánh Ngân hàng Nông nghiệp Quảng Trị từ tháng 3/2009.
Tại khu vực biên giới giáp Lào và Campuchia, Ngân hàng Nông nghiệp là ngân hàng duy nhất cung cấp Thanh toán biên mậu cho khách hàng.
Thực hiện thanh toán biên mậu qua ngân hàng, khách hàng có thể lựa chọn các phương thức qua kênh phân phối truyền thống tại các chi nhánh và phòng giao dịch như: Hối phiếu ngân hàng; chứng từ chuyển tiền biên mậu; chứng từ thanh toán thương vụ; thư uỷ thác chuyển tiền Thanh toán biên mậu; điện chuyển tiền; thư tín dụng chứng từ mậu dịch biên giới; thư bảo lãnh thanh toán mậu dịch biên giới.
