Quảng Bình có rất nhiều lễ hội nhưng lễ hội mà tôi thích nhất là lễ hội đua thuyền truyền thống thường được tổ chức vào ngày 30 tháng 4 hằng năm trên sông Nhật Lệ, thu hút hàng ngàn người dân đến cổ vũ cho các đội đua.
Tham dự lễ hội có 8 đội thuyền.Các đội đấu chia làm 2 bảng, mỗi bảng 4 đội, thi đấu với cự li 7km, sau đó chọn ra 6 đội lọt vào vòng chung kết. toàn bộ các thuyền đua được làm bằng chất liệu composite theo đung chuẩn quốc tế và luật quốc tế về đua thuyền composite.
Lễ hội đua thuyền là hoạt động thể thao dưới nước mang đậm bản sắc văn hóa dân tộc. đối với thành phố Đồng Hới, lễ hội đua thuyên truyền thống đã trở thành lễ hội văn hóa đăc sắc từ bao đời nay của ngư dân các địa phương nằm dọc ven sông và biển Nhật Lệ với ước nguyện cầu an, cầu mùa và mong muốn một cuộc sống ấm no hạnh phúc.
