Vụ đánh bom tại đền Erawan tối ngày 17-8 khiến ít nhất 22 người thiệt mạng, trong đó có 4 du khách nước ngoài, và hơn 100 người khác bị thương. Vụ đánh bom thứ hai tại bến tàu Sathorn ngày 18-8 không gây ra thương vong nào do quả bom rơi xuống sông.

Bộ Ngoại giao Thái Lan cho biết rất nhiều nước trong đó có Pháp, Nhật Bản, Singapore, Hàn Quốc và Mỹ cảnh báo công dân cần cẩn trọng khi đến Thái Lan.

Hiện, các nhà chức trách Thái Lan đang khẩn trương điều tra và truy tìm thủ phạm hai vụ đánh bom nói trên. Cảnh sát Thái Lan tin rằng hai vụ đánh bom do cùng thủ phạm gây ra, trong số này có cả người nước ngoài.
