Nhờ có cảm giác an toàn đó, đứa trẻ mới cảm thấy yên tâm, mới vui tươi hồn nhiên, mới mạnh dạn thăm dò, thử nghiệm, tìm cách tác động lên sự vật xung quanh để phát huy những khả năng về sinh lý và tâm lý đang sinh sôi nảy nở. Mất đi cái cảm giác an toàn, đứa trẻ luôn sợ hãi, dễ co mình lại, giảm tính tích cực, năng động và thường xuyên rơi vào tình trạng thụ động, buồn bã.
