Cuộc khủng hoảng tài chính toàn cầu

Cuộc khủng hoảng tài chính toàn cầu diễn ra năm 2008-2009 đã gây thiệt hại và làm suy thoái về kinh tế cũng như những khuyết tật về mô hình tăng trưởng và về cơ cấu kinh tế của thế giới và trong từng nước. Cuộc khủng hoảng này đã nói lên nhiều ý kiến khác nhau về các mô hình tăng trưởng kinh tế hiện hữu. Trên hết là có nhiều ý kiến phê phán mô hình tăng trưởng kinh tế theo chủ nghĩa tự do mới, họ cho rằng không thể thiếu bàn tay hữu hình của Nhà nước và nếu phó mặc cho thị trường tự điều chỉnh thì sớm muộn gì cũng dẫn đến tự phát và đổ vỡ. Trước những khó khăn của việc đẩy mạnh xuất khẩu, một số nước ở châu Á đã hướng vào thị trường trong nước để duy trì tăng trưởng kinh tế, nên cũng đã có ý kiến chỉ trích mô hình tăng trưởng kinh tế hướng về xuất khẩu.
