Ủy ban Nhà nước về người Việt Nam ở nước ngoài cho biết, theo Luật Nhà ở và các quy định hiện hành, thời hạn thị thực (visa) không ảnh hưởng đến quyền sở hữu nhà của người nước ngoài khi mua nhà tại Việt Nam.
Đây là nội dung trong văn bản của Ủy ban Nhà nước về người Việt Nam ở nước ngoài trả lời các đề nghị của Hiệp hội Bất động sản TPHCM (HoREA) về thủ tục, điều kiện cho người nước ngoài sở hữu nhà tại Việt Nam.
Trước đó, vào tháng 7-2015, Hiệp hội Bất động sản TPHCM (HoREA) đã gửi văn bản đề xuất cấp visa với thời hạn dài, có thể từ 1 - 3 năm để tạo điều kiện cho cá nhân nước ngoài sở hữu nhà tại Việt Nam.
