Theo ý kiến được hàng loạt chuyên gia là các nhà khoa học, luật sư đưa ra tại tọa đàm “Từ đề án 6700 nhìn lại quy hoạch cây xanh Hà Nội” được tổ chức vào chiều ngày 23-3, thì chính quyền Hà Nội đã vi phạm pháp luật nghiêm trọng khi thực hiện đề án thay thế 6.700 cây xanh của thành phố. Và vi phạm này cần được xử lý nghiêm khắc theo pháp luật chứ không chỉ rút kinh nghiệm, kiểm điểm vì một số lượng lớn cây xanh của Hà Nội đã bị chặt.
Cuộc tọa đàm do Trung tâm con người và Thiên nhiên phối hợp với Trung tâm Truyền thông Giáo dục Cộng đồng tổ chức. Đại diện ban tổ chức cho biết, ban tổ chức tọa đàm đã tha thiết mời đại diện UBND thành phố Hà Nội cũng như Sở Xây dựng Hà Nội, nhưng không có đại biểu nào của hai cơ quan này tham gia.
