Tại lễ bế mạc liên hoan phim Cannes lần thứ 69 vừa mới kết thúc, đã có không ít bất ngờ xảy ra khi các dự đoán của giới chuyên môn đa phần đều không trở thành hiện thực.
Ở tuổi 79, đạo diễn người Anh Ken Loach đã có vinh dự lần thứ hai nhận giải thưởng Cành Cọ Vàng với tác phẩm "I, Daniel Blake."
Vào năm 2006, bộ phim "The Wind That Shakes the Barley" của đạo diễn Ken Loach đã giành được giải Cành Cọ Vàng - vinh dự cao nhất tại Cannes. Đúng một thập niên sau, ông lại đứng trên bục vinh quang nhờ "I, Daniel Blake."
