Thứ nhất Swallow The Sun nổi tiếng là ban nhạc có artwork đẹp ngang ngửa với âm nhạc. Thế nên chắc chắn một bộ ba album thống nhất này sẽ tương ứng với 1 bộ artwork đẹp chưa từng có của họ. Thứ hai quan trọng hơn là âm nhạc. Cho dù có 1 vài thời điểm khá nhàm chán ở đĩa thứ 2 thì đây vẫn là một tác phẩm tuyệt vời thể hiện những gì tinh túy nhất của STS kèm với đó là những thử nghiệm mới mẻ. Album 1(Buồn bã): Là album dễ nghe nhất và hay nhất của bộ ba album này(Có thể vị trí sẽ thay đổi khi tớ nghe album 3 nhiều hơn). Đơn giản vì ở album này STS làm những gì họ làm giỏi nhất trong 5 album trước đó của mình. Sự hòa quyện hoàn hảo giữa giai điệu mềm mại đầy melodic và sự dữ dội của death metal. Acoustic guitar tuyệt đẹp, guitar trầm buồn, mệt mỏi, piano thánh thót âm u, không khí lạnh lẽo và buồn thảm bao trùm. Âm nhạc như dòng suối trong rừng đem nhẹ nhàng len lỏi vào tai. Album 3(Tuyệt vọng): Như đoạn kết của Lord Of The Rings, album thứ 3 là album epic nhất của bộ ba này. Gần như hoàn toàn được xây dựng bởi harsh vocal. STS dựng nên một album đầy căng thẳng, tràn sức mạnh nhưng vẫn dạt dào cảm xúc. Đỉnh cao của album nằm ở 3 track cuối, 3 bản epic dồn dập nối tiếp nhau như cơn sóng cuốn phăng đi những ám ảnh mệt mỏi và nhàm chán của album 2 trước đó, đem đến cho Songs from the north một cái kết ấn tượng và ám ảnh.

Tóm lại nếu là người cầu toàn tớ sẽ mong muốn đây chỉ là bộ đôi album thay vì 3 album. Thế nhưng Songs from the north với tất cả điểm mạnh và yếu của nó đã thể hiện sức sáng tạo ghê gớm của STS đồng thời cho thấy sự trưởng thành của họ để thay thế những cái tên như Katatonia, Anathema trở thành đầu tàu của Doom/Death
