Hành Trình cuộc đời của Trần Thanh Toàn từ Quảng Ninh về Hà Nội vào Thành Phố Hồ Chí Minh, từ Việt Nam sang Hoa Kỳ - Tương ứng với cuộc hành trình của nghệ thuật ông.
Trần Thanh Toàn sinh năm 1942 tại Thành phố Hải Phòn, tốt nghiệp Cao đẳng Mỹ thuật Việt Nam 1974, 9 năm làm thợ tiện, 7 năm cán bộ “Bách hóa”, 10 năm cán bộ “lắp máy” (thiết kế logo “Lilama”), rồi ngoại thương, tham gia triễn lãm công nhân quốc tế tại CHDC Đức 1976, triển lãm mỹ thuật toàn quốc 1985, 1992 triển lãm cá nhân tại TP.HCM, 1999 tham gia triển lãm tranh “ Trở về với cội nguồn” với nhóm bạn bè tại TP. HCM, 2003 tham gia triển ãm tranh “ Những mảnh đời” tại Hội người Việt Chicago, 2004 triển lãm tranh “ Những mảnh đời II” tại Beacon St. Gallery Chicago, đã xuất bản 4 tập sách “ Nỗi nhớ Hạ Long” (thơ- họa, 2003)” Chân dung gia đình và bạn bè” (2005), “ Cõi nhân gian” (2011) và “ Lời tự tình” (thơ 2014)… “ Tôi không thấy buồn tủi khi đã trải qua một đời sống nghèo nàn, vất vả..
