Kiểm tra ở cấp trung học phổ thông đi theo đường hướng đánh giá liên tục. Các hình thức kiểm tra bao gồm kiểm tra 15 phút, kiểm tra 1 tiết, kiểm tra hết học kì và kiểm tra hết năm học. Kiểm tra 15 phút có thể được tiến hành ở trên lớp dưới hình thức nghe,nói, viết hoặc ngữ pháp- từ vựng. Kiểm tra 1 tiết hay kiểm tra cuối kỳ hay cuối năm học tập trung vào cả bốn kĩ năng nghe, nói, đọc, viết và ngữ pháp-từ vựng.
