Giống như “Home Alone”, những ngày mẹ vắng nhà ấy là cơ hội cho Joe, cậu bé mới 13 tuổi tha hồ tung tẩy chìa khóa nhà, ăn uống, chơi game vô tội vạ và đủ tiền đi mua sắm, miễn là nó tránh xa tất cả rắc rối: không được nghe điện thoại của người lạ (trừ phi đó là cuộc điện thoại kiểm tra của mẹ nó vào đúng 6h tối), không được nói chuyện với hàng xóm.

Chả khác gì giam lỏng, nhưng với Joe, đó là tuần tự do đầy thi vị :)) Tuy nhiên, Joe không tránh được tất cả các rắc rối giỏi như mình tưởng. Đến ngày thứ hai, nó đã gặp Asha hàng xóm với cặp mắt “cat-eye”, sắc như mắt mèo, gặp ông ngoại Otis của con bé và dần trở nên thân thiết.
