Chi tiêu tốt, lượng khách du lịch quốc tế và khách nội địa tăng trưởng đều đặn là lý do mà tốc độ tăng trưởng chung hàng năm của Việt Nam sẽ rất tốt trong thời gian tới.



Hiện chưa có số liệu thống kê mới nhất về tổng số khách sạn trên cả nước nhưng tính đến 9-2012, cả nước có đến 12.500 cơ sở lưu trú với 250.000 phòng, trong đó có 53 khách sạn 5 sao, 127 khách sạn 4 sao và 271 khách sạn 3 sao. Số lượng khách sạn đang tăng trưởng mạnh mẽ ở những trung tâm du lịch như Đà Nẵng, Khánh Hòa, Quảng Nam. Số lượng khách sạn ở Quảng Ninh cũng tăng đột biến sau khi vịnh Hạ Long được bình chọn là 1 trong 7 kỳ quan thiên nhiên của thế giới.
