Bởi vì tôi đến từ một nền văn hóa và ngôn ngữ khác hoàn toàn so với con người nơi đây. Nền văn hóa Mỹ và con người nơi đây làm tôi cảm thấy vô cùng khó khăn và bối rối.Khác với một số nền văn hóa khác, nhất là văn hóa Châu Á trong đó có Vietnam, nhìn chung, người Mỹ rất coi trọng tự do cá nhân và tính tự lập. Họ rất tự giác xếp hàng đợi đến lượt mình khi có từ hai người trở lên, và không có thói quen chen ngang hàng. Tại cửa ra vào thang máy, tàu điện ngầm, hoặc xe buýt, người ở ngoài thường đợi cho người ở trong ra hết rồi mới vào. Người Mỹ có thói quen cám ơn khi được người khác giúp đỡ dù chỉ là một việc rất nhỏ như nhường đường chẳng hạn. Người Việt Nam không như vậy.
