Theo tôi, thông thường sinh viên sẽ tìm kiếm quá nhiều tài liệu, thậm chí, có những tài liệu không cần thiết và không liên quan đến đề tài nghiên cứu. Trong khi đó, các tài liệu nghiên cứu liên quan và thực sự cần thiết với đề tài lại không tìm được. Sinh viên thường thụ động trong việc tìm kiếm tài liệu chủ yếu tìm kiếm từ sách vở, giáo trình, internet, thư việc,… Việc tìm kiếm những tài liệu quan trọng và mang tính thực tế thì rất khó khăn, đôi khi tốn kém. Đôi khi, sinh viên còn mắc phải sự mâu thuẫn trong quan điểm của cùng một vấn đề ở nhiều tài liệu khác nhau. Việc tìm kiếm và sử dụng các tài liệu có nguồn gốc nước ngoài vẫn còn hạn chế.
