Chúng ta đang sống ở thế kỉ thứ 21, thế kỉ của công nghiệp hoá – hiện đại hoá và là thời đại của khoa học kĩ thuật. Vào thời đại này, công nghệ cao trong mọi việc là điều hoàn toàn bình thường. có một công nghệ được phát triển khá gần đây nhưng lại đem lại lợi ích rất lớn cho con người đó là internet. Internet là một từ rất quen thuộc với chúng ta ngày nay. Vậy internet là gì?
Định nghĩa một cách cụ thể thì Internet được hiểu là mạng liên kết toàn cầu, được xây dựng thành một hệ thống kết nối các máy tính để truyền dữ liệu với nhau. Từ việc kết nối được các máy tính trên toàn thế giới có nghĩa là chúng ta đã kết nối thế giới lại gần nhau hơn. Vậy internet có tác dụng gì? Internet giúp con người rất nhiều việc. nhưng có 3 tác dụng chính đó là thư điện tử, chat và tìm kiếm thông tin. Với 3 tác dụng này con người có thể làm được khối việc: từ làm việc đến giải trí, xem tin tức. nó giúp ích rất nhiều cho đời sống của chúng ta. Vậy muốn sử dụng được internet ta phải làm sao? Đầu tiên chúng ta cần một chiếc máy tính, laptop hay smart phone có thể kết nối internet. Sau đó ta cần đăng kí với công ty cung cấp mạng, họ sẽ lắp đặt cho ta. sử dụng internet sẽ phải trả tiền phí. Có 3 loại kết nối mạng cơ bản là cáp quang, wifi và kết nối không dây, chúng có ưu và nhược điểm khác nhau tuỳ vào mục đích sử dụng. tuy nhiên dù cho internet có nhiều lợi ích nhưng hiện nay một số người vẫn không biết đến internet hoặc biết nhưng nghĩ internet là xấu, không nên sử dụng. ngay bây giờ chúng ta cần thay đổi những suy nghĩ đó và giúp mọi người học cách sử dụng internet vì sau này, cuộc sống của con người sẽ phụ thuộc vào internet rất nhiều.

Có nhiều tiện ích như vậy chắc chắn sẽ có tác hại đi cùng. Bạn sẽ cảm thấy buồn bực khó chịu vì không được lên facebook, không được đọc tin tức, không được nghe nhạc, xem phim. Và khi có mạng trở lại, bạn rất vui mừng, đúng không? Một ví dụ đơn giản cũng có thể cho thấy vai trò của internet trong đời sống của chúng ta, nó rất quan trọng. không thể kết nối internet, chúng ta gần như sẽ bị cô lập với thế giới bên ngoài.
