a) Nếu chiếu sáng tự nhiên trực tiếp từ một đầu hồi thì chiều dài hành lang không quá 20m.
b) Nếu chiếu sáng tự nhiên trực tiếp từ hai đầu hồi thì chiều dài hành lang không quá 40m.
c) Khi chiều dài hành lang quá những quy định trên cần phải có chiếu sáng tự nhiên bổ sung bằng cách thiết kế các khoang lấy ánh sáng, mỗi khoang có chiều rộng lớn hơn 1/2 bề sâu (bề sâu của kho ang tự nhiên tường ngoài tới mép hành lang).
Khoảng cách giữa hai khoang lấy ánh sáng không được quá 20m. Khoảng cách giữa khoang lấy ánh sáng ngoài cùng tới đầu hồi không dài quá 30m.
Chú thích: Các buồng thang hở cũng được coi như khoang lấy ánh sáng.
