Flavonoids (or bioflavonoids) (derived from Latin flavus means yellow, the color of flavonoids in nature) is one type of intermediate metabolites of plants. However, some flavonoids have blue, purple and others also have no color. In plants, there are several other groups of flavonoid compounds but have yellow as carotenoids, anthranoid, xanthones can be confusing. flavonoid called vitamin P (due to osmotic effects on blood vessel walls) from the middle 1930s and early 50s, but the term is outdated and no longer used. [1] According to the IUPAC nomenclature, [2] [3], flavonoids can be divided into: flavonoids or bioflavonoids. Isoflavonoids , rooted in the structure of the 3-phenylchromen-4-one (3-phenyl-1,4-benzopyrone) neoflavonoids, derived from the structure of the 4-phenylcoumarine (4-phenyl-1,2-benzopyrone).
