Tình trạng hạn hán và xâm ngập mặn đã xảy ra ở ĐBSCL, mạnh nhất là hai quý đầu năm nhưng chủ yếu ảnh hưởng đến tôm nuôi, ít tác động đến sản xuất cá tra.
Kể từ cuối tháng 9/2016, sau khi rơi xuống mức thấp 19.000 đồng/kg, giá cá tra đã bắt đầu có dấu hiệu nhích lên, tăng 2.000 – 3.000 đồng/kg. Quý IV/2014, dự báo giá cá tra tiếp tục tăng thêm 500 – 1.000 đồng/kg so với quý III do nhu cầu thị trường tốt hơn.
