Vietnam's dairy business are suffering on a competitive pressure increase due to the reduction in taxes for imported milk under the policy of Vietnam's tariff cuts under the commitment agreement tariff preference in the ASEAN free trade area (CEPT/AFTA commitments) and commitment to the World Trade Organization (WTO). The psychology of the "foreign goods like" Vietnam is also a negative effect to the amount of consumption of dairy products in the country. Currently, the domestic dairy products accounted for only 30% of the domestic market share.According to figures from the General Statistics Office, the preliminary count in the first 8 months of the year 2014, the Vietnam has imported 796, 091.83 thousand USD items of milk and dairy products.
