Theo thống kê của Bệnh viện Mắt Trung ương, hiện có khoảng 3 triệu trẻ em trên cả nước mắc tật khúc xạ về mắt, trong đó 2/3 là bị cận thị, tập trung chủ yếu ở đô thị với tỷ lệ chiếm 30-35%.
