ASEAN-Nhật Bản cũng tiếp tục phát triển hợp tác về Công nghệ thông tin. Nhật Bản đã hỗ trợ ASEAN trong một số lĩnh vực như: an toàn thông tin, phát triển nguồn nhân lực, phát triển các dịch vụ công nghệ thông tin dựa trên Kế hoạch công tác về ICT ASEAN - Nhật Bản năm 2015. Tại Hội nghị TELMIN ASEAN + Nhật Bản tổ chức vào ngày 23/1/2015 tại Bangkok, các Bộ trưởng đã thông qua kế hoạch hoạt động năm 2015 của hợp tác giữa ASEAN và Nhật Bản cũng như thông qua các ấn phẩm đầu tiên là bản Hướng dẫn quan trọng bảo vệ cơ sở hạ tầng thông tin ASEAN-Nhật Bản. Ấn phẩm được thực hiện trong khuôn khổ hợp tác ASEAN-Nhật Bản về an toàn thông tin.
