Cây lúa trên địa bàn huyện Thạnh Phú nhờ chuyển đổi cơ cấu vụ mùa và thay đổi giống lúa cũ bằng các giống lúa mới có năng suất cao, phù hợp với từng vùng sinh thái kết hợp với việc đầu tư hệ thống thủy lợi tương đối hoàn chỉnh và việc tăng cường ứng dụng khoa học vào sản xuất nên năng suất, chất lượng và sản lượng các năm qua đều tăng, đạt từ 5 tấn – 5,5 tấn/hecta; cây dừa diện tích duy trì ổn định 4.400 hecta, sản lượng 41 triệu trái/năm. Chăn nuôi phát triển cả về qui mô và chất lượng, toàn huyện hiện có tổng đàn bò 29.880 con, đàn heo 32.000 con, đàn gia cầm 550.000 con. Về lâm nghiệp, huyện đã phối hợp với các ngành chức năng của tỉnh thực hiện tốt dự án bảo tồn thiên nhiên ngập nước huyện Thạnh Phú, bảo vệ an toàn số diện tích rừng phòng hộ trên địa bàn, góp phần tích cực vào việc tạo cảnh quan bảo vệ môi trường sinh thái và góp phần phòng tránh giảm nhẹ thiên tai và biến đổi khí hậu.
