Năm 2014 nền kinh tế nói chung và vị trí của khối kinh tế tư nhân nói riêng đã gặt hái một số thành công đáng kể. Tình hình kinh tế vĩ mô tiếp tục ổn định, trong bối cảnh Việt Nam đến cuối năm 2014 sẽ trở thành nhà cung cấp thuộc khối ASEAN lớn nhất cho thị trường Hoa Kỳ, với kim ngạch xuất khẩu ròng khoảng 30 tỉ US$.Đây là một thành quả mang tính lịch sử khi Việt Nam đang bị bao quanh bởi những chuỗi cung ứng khổng lồ. Tuy một số hiệp định thương mại song phương và đa phương cần thiết cho việc tiếp tục tăng trưởng đang gặp phải một số trở ngại, triển vọng trong những năm tới vẫn được nhìn nhận là khả quan hơn. Mặc dù vậy, chúng ta vẫn cần phải có những nỗ lực vượt bậc để nâng cao hiệu quả, tăng cường năng lực cạnh tranh.
