Có những mục tiêu không cần người theo đuổi phải nắm toàn bộ kiến thức THPT hiện nay. Có người muốn làm lập trình viên. Người muốn làm đầu bếp nhà hàng. Người muốn làm giám đốc ngân hàng, muốn làm thiết kế thời trang, người muốn làm Bộ trưởng Bộ Giáo dục…, vô vàn các nghề. Đâu phải nghề nào cũng cần biết đến phương trình chuyển động của chất điểm! Và nếu về sau anh làm một kỹ sư vật lý thì liệu có cần phân tích hình tượng nghệ thuật trong một bài văn? Nếu về sau anh làm một nhà văn liệu có cần dùng đến công thức tính tần số alen hay là ghi nhớ một loạt danh pháp và phản ứng hoá học của một loạt các thể loại ankan, anken, ankin, ancol, andehit….. abcxyz? Với những hiểu biết hèn mọn của mình tôi không tin rằng có một nghề nào cần đến toàn bộ kiến thức THPT cả. Giáo viên hay giáo sư cũng chỉ đi theo một vài chuyên môn của mình, kiến thức liên ngành rộng đến đâu cũng tùy vào tầm của anh. Vậy mà học sinh lại phải đáp ứng toàn bộ bài học và bài tập của hơn một chục môn học như vậy hàng tuần thì phải làm thế nào?
Biết nhiều thì cũng tốt thôi, nhưng để làm gì? Làm bài tập, bài kiểm tra, bài thi. Thi đỗ rồi thì làm gì với chúng nữa? Nếu không làm được gì có ích cho bản thân thì cuối cùng anh học để làm gì? Đánh giá nhau không quan trọng ở việc anh biết được bao nhiêu, mà là anh làm được bao nhiêu với những gì anh biết! Học lý thuyết lượng tử ánh sáng mà không mắc được cái bóng đèn thì học làm gì?
