Từ đồ thị và bảng số liệu ta thấy rằng hai hình thức thanh toán quốc tế chủ yếu tại TPB là L/C nhập và Điện chuyển tiền ( TT), tuy nhiên nổi bật nhất và chiếm tỷ trọng lớn nhất vẫn là hoạt động thanh toán L/C nhập. Cụ thể, hoạt động thanh toán L/C nhập khẩu tại TPB trong những năm qua chiếm khoảng từ 70% - 80%, hoạt động thanh toán bằng TT chiếm khoảng từ 15% - 25%, hai hình thức còn lại là nhờ thu và thanh toán L/C xuất khẩu chiếm khoảng 5%.
Chiều biến thiên của hoạt động thanh toán L/C nhập và TT là không đồng nhất. Cụ thể, tổng doanh thu trong thanh toán và phát hành L/C nhập tăng 8,6% từ57.453 nghìn USD năm 2011 lên 62.375 nghìn USD năm 2012 nhưng sau đó giảm nhẹ khoảng 2,4% xuống còn 60.853 nghìn USD vào năm 2013. Trong khi đó Doanh thu từ TT giảm khoảng 40,5% từ 21.508 nghìn USD năm 2011 xuống 12.790 nghìn USD năm 2012 nhưng sang năm 2013 thì con số này lại lên đến 20.926 nghìn USD tăng 63,6%, hai hình thức thanh toán còn lại hầu như giảm. Do ảnh hướng mạnh bởi sự biến thiên của hình thức TT cũng như hai hình thức nhờ thu và L/C xuất khẩu mà tổng doanh thu trong giai đoạn này có xu hướng giảm sau đó tăng với tốc độ như nhau là 8%.
