Nhu cầu phân tích mối liên hệ giữa hai tập hợp biến đang ngày càng phát triển trong lĩnh vực kinh tế, xã hội. Nếu như phân tích hồi quy chỉ cho phép phân tích tác động của một hoặc nhiều biến độc lập đến một biến phụ thuộc thì phân tích tương quan đa biến (CCA) cho phép phân tích tác động của một tập hợp biến độc lập lên một tập hợp biến phụ thuộc. Chương này giới thiệu kỹ thuật cho phép phân tích mối liên hệ giữa hai tập hợp biến trong đó một tập hợp biến được xác định là biến độc lập và một tập hợp được xác định là biến phụ thuộc.
