- Các doanh nghiệp hoạt động theo Giấy phép đầu tư hoặc Giấy chứng nhận đầu tư (đồng thời là Giấy chứng nhận ĐKKD) nếu có tên trùng, tên gây nhầm lẫn với tên doanh nghiệp đã đăng ký trong Cơ sở dữ liệu quốc gia về ĐKDN không bắt buộc phải đăng ký đổi tên (khoản 4 Điều 17)
- Tên của Chi nhánh, VPĐD, địa điểm kinh doanh cũng có thể đăng ký tên bằng tiếng nước ngoài và tên viết tắt (khoản 2 Điều 20)
