One of the problems being concerned of that world is the greenhouse gas emissions, especially CO2 from forest loss and degradation of forests. Because the forest is where carbon storage more than any ecosystem on Earth and has an important role in limiting climate change around the world. When the woods were chopping or recession, the stored carbon and releases into the atmosphere as carbon dioxide (CO2). Tropical deforestation emissions were estimated from 1-2 billion tons of carbon each year. In the 1990s, about 15-25% of global greenhouse gas emissions each year [6, 9.12]. The sources of greenhouse gas emissions in most tropical countries is greatest from deforestation and forest degradation [5]. Manage CO2 (carbon dioxide) in natural forests will be one of the most important agenda in the first half of the 21st century in the context of the influence to the greenhouse effect and reducing to a minimum the changing global climate. Bach Ma National Park is home to beautiful scenery and fresh air, besides the garden is also known as a place to enhance biodiversity and store carbon with rich forests, biodiversity and biomass are 42 primary forest. In fact, forest ecosystems especially of natural forest in the Bach Ma National Park plays an important role in the carbon cycle. During the season the growth of CO2 being put on flora and stored in the form of biomass. Biomass is also an important indicator in the CO2 absorption. The recent research shows that the majority of CO2 accumulated in biomass of the trees. The ability to absorb CO2 depends on the species of tree trunk diameter, and yield of each forest status [3], [4], [11]. Therefore the evaluation of forests and biomass carbon reserves in the State forest is very necessary. In recent years, in Vietnam there are many studies relating to the determination of the biomass of the forest, creating the basis for the proposed economic estimation of forest yield, also proposed carbon credits. This study used the same methods and standard cell counting directly from the field [7], [8]. This method for high precision, but it takes a lot of time and expensive, particularly difficult to apply in distant places and complex terrain conditions. With the superiority of the remote sensing technology and GIS techniques. In case of using remote sensing and GIS in combination with fieldwork investigation to determine carbon reserves for forest status was considered as a new approach today. Study of biomass and carbon storage of forest status, not the disambiguation for the management and sustainable forest development but also contribute to the value of the environment, reduction of the gases causing the greenhouse effect and climate change in Vietnam and worldwide. Comes from the fact that, the Group has studied the application of remote sensing and GIS technology to build a map of biomass and carbon storage of stories of trees in the forest of Bach Ma National Park, province of Thua Thien Hue in order to provide the scientific basis for the management of Forest Carbon monitoring, when involved in the conservation of biodiversity , increase the amount of Carbon reserves and sustainable forest management (REDD +) and to pay for environmental services of forests.
