Every year there are high-level meetings. Japanese Prime Minister visited Vietnam five times (Tomiichi Murayama 8/1994, 1/1997 Ryutaro Hashimoto, Keizo Obuchi 12/1998, Junichiro Koizumi 4/02, 2012. Abe Shinzou) Japanese Foreign Minister official visit two times (1996 and 2004). Vietnam's Prime Minister visited Japan six times (1993, 1999, 2001, 2003-2 times - and 6/2004). Since 1993, General Secretary (2 times in 1995 and 2002), Chairman of the National Assembly and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam also visited Japan. In 2002, leaders of the two countries agreed to build the Vietnam-Japan under the motto "reliable partner, long-term stability." During the visit to Vietnam by Japanese Foreign Minister 7/2004, the two sides signed a joint statement "Reaching new heights of sustainable partnership". The two sides have built up a dialogue mechanism at many levels. Apart from regular political dialogue at the level of Deputy Foreign Minister (since 1993), the two sides have built up economic dialogue mechanism, security and defense. The two sides exchanged military attache, open Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam and Osaka in Japan Japan will support the policy of renovation, opening of Vietnam; supports Vietnam's integration into the region and the world (at APEC, WTO, ASEM, ARF, Vietnam Campaign OECD technical help ...); attaches great importance to relations with Vietnam, get the benefits and long-term goals as important. Vietnam supports Japan as permanent members of the Security Council of the United Nations to expand, and mobilize support for Vietnam Japan candidacy as a non-permanent member of the Security Council of the United Nations for the 2008-2009 term.
