Việc phát triển du lịch MICE không những mang về nguồn thu đáng kể cho ngành du lịch Việt nam mà còn là dịp để giới thiệu quảng bá hình ảnh việt nam tới du khách cũng như tạo khả năng thu hút vốn đầu tư từ các doanh nghiệp trong và ngoài nước.
Việt Nam cần phải tạo ra được những sự kiện để thu hút khách du lịch MICE. Hiện nay du lịch Việt Nam khai thác phần lớn là du lịch khen thưởng, hội họp và hội nghị khách hàng, dù mức độ còn thấp, trong khi triển lãm dường như không có, hoặc với qui mô quá nhỏ để có thể gọi là tầm cỡ quốc tế và thu hút khách MICE.
Khai thác thị trường MICE là một trong những mục tiêu của chiến lược phát triển ngành du lịch Việt Nam. Để mảng dịch vụ này phát triển hiệu quả và đem lại lợi ích lớn thì bản thân những người làm du lịch phải hiểu rõ loại hình này, nắm rõ những thuật lợi và khó khăn để từ đó thực hiện những chiến lược đồng bộ, hữu ích nhất đưa du lịch MICE hoàn thiện và phát triển vững vàng.
