Market Data
(a) Production of plastic:
10 years, Vietnam's plastics production has grown rapidly and steadily with an average speed of 15% / year. Despite the global economic downturn and plastic material price fluctuations in 2008, production of plastic Vietnam remains at 2.3 million tonnes, up 22% compared to 2007. It is expected that the total production of the country will continue increase in the years to come. (b) Manufacturing technologies Plastic technologies that Vietnam used to produce plastic products include: Technology injection (injection technology) - this technology is used to make plastic components and parts Details for the electronics, power, motorcycles and automotive industries. According to industry experts, there are about 3,000 kinds of injection equipment in Vietnam. Technology Extrusion-Blow (Blow-extrusion technology): This is the blown film technology, production of plastic packaging material from the membrane , technologies used in blow PE, PP and membrane (PVC lamination). Currently, many businesses use technology plastic extrusion blow by multiple devices imported from other countries, many generations to produce plastic packaging products. Technology for producing plastics using bar Profile (Profile Technology): In Vietnam Men, this technology is used to make products such as PVC drainage pipe, PE water supply pipe, aluminum and plastic, fiber, PVC doors, frames, roofing, wall coverings, etc. ... Generally, lot production technology advanced plastic being applied in Vietnam, but not yet popular. Since 2005, many plastic manufacturers in Vietnam has invested significantly to upgrade production facilities and their machinery and plastic products to improve their quality and design, thereby improving competitiveness in the domestic market and internationally. For example, some large companies are producing quality plastic products and high-tech uses advanced equipment and machinery imported from Germany, Italy and Japan. This trend will continue as the plastics industry Vietnam strives to maintain its competitiveness and expand their capacity to penetrate the world market. (c) Enterprises Plastic To date, approximately 2,000 plastic business, mainly in the south. Number of enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces such as Dong Nai, Binh Duong and Long An account for 80% of the total number of plastic enterprises in the country while the number of businesses in the North and Central regions accounted for only 15% and 5%. Of the 2,000 firms in the plastic industry, mostly small and medium enterprises (SMEs), private enterprise (90%). (d) Development Plan for the plastic industry in 2010 - Apply advanced technology to ensure Vietnam plastic products meet the requirements of quality, safety, hygiene and environmental impact as prescribed by Vietnam and internationally, thereby improving their competitiveness in and abroad; - Invest in building factory plastic material, semi-finished products, chemicals, additives, and mold; - Production of high-tech plastics and plastic products for export - develop processing industry waste plastic products and plastic raw materials Here are some of the goals set out in 2010: - annual growth rate: 15% - Consumption per capita plastics: 40kg / year - Plastic materials in domestic production to meet 50% of market demand - 132,000 sets of molds / year - build a waste processing facility with a capacity of 200,000 tonnes of plastic / year outlook Due to the urgent need Facilities need to upgrade production technology and product diversification to maintain and increase competitiveness at home and abroad, Vietnam has imported many equipment and machinery manufacturing also advanced plastic materials Higher quality plastic. The Government has approved the master plan for development of Vietnam Plastics to 2010; which focuses on projects produced plastic materials. Currently, many project materials for the plastic industry is the construction such as factory x UAT PP1, PP2, factory PE ... If the new project is carried out on schedule, the end of the year 2010, the new plant can raise production capacity to add 1.2 million tons / year. Thus can help businesses be more active in the supply of inputs and reduce the risk of price fluctuations of raw materials and exchange rate risks. (As reported by SBBS). There are two PVC producers with combined capacity of 200,000 tonnes / year, of which 30% is for export and 70% is for the domestic market. That TPC Vina Plastic and Chemical Company and Phu My nature. In addition, the Company also Formusa Vietnam, companies 100% owned by Taiwan with a production capacity of PET material is 145,000 tonnes / year. However, Vietnam still has to import 70-80% of plastic materials , mainly PP, PE, PS and Nylon and most of the equipment and machinery necessary for the production of plastic products. In 2008, imports of machinery and equipment manufacture plastic about 363.760 million US $. Vietnam countries that import the equipments and plastic manufacturing machinery in 2008 is Taiwan, China, Korea and Japan.
