Làng An Hải ngày trước thuộc xã An Phúc, huyện Diên Phước, tỉnh Quảng Nam, nay thuộc phường An Hải Tây, quận Sơn Trà, thành phố Đà Nẵng. Mảnh đất phía đông sông Hàn này đã một thời được các vua nhà Nguyễn cho xây dựng thành trì - gọi là thành An Hải, cùng với thành Điện Hải ở phía tây giữ nhiệm vụ bảo vệ cảng biển Đà Nẵng. Sau đợt tấn công của liên quân Pháp - Tây Ban Nha vào rạng sáng ngày 1/09/1858 vào Đà Nẵng, thành An Hải và Điện Hải đã bị hư hại nặng. Đến nay, mặc dù dấu vết thành An Hải hầu như không còn nữa, nhưng dấu ấn của cuộc kháng chiến hào hùng ngày xưa vẫn còn lưu giữ trong lòng người dân bao thế hệ qua câu chuyện truyền khẩu.

Năm 2000, lễ hội đình làng An Hải được khôi phục, nhắc nhở mọi ngườì quay về một thời hào hùng ấy. Lễ hội đình làng An Hải được tổ chức vào ngày thu tế hàng năm, 10-8 âm lịch.
