Hãng này đã lắp đặt một phần mềm tinh vi mà giới truyền thông gọi là “thiết bị nói dối” vào mô-đun điều khiển điện tử của các mẫu xe chạy nhiên liệu diesel sản xuất trong thời gian 2008-2015.
