Trách nhiệm của người chuyên chở theo công ước Hague 1924 và công ước Hague-Visby là như nhau.Người chuyên chở phải chịu trách nhiệm về hàng hóa kể từ khi hàng được xếp lên tàu tại cảng đi đến khi hàng được dỡ khỏi tàu tại cảng đến.
