Với việc là lần đầu tiên trong APEC, một chủ nhà tương lai của Năm APEC đề xuất và chủ trì tổ chức một sự kiện với sự tham dự của ba nền kinh tế thành viên là chủ nhà các Năm APEC liên tiếp từ 2014 – 2016, các đại biểu quốc tế đánh giá cao sự chủ động và tích cực của Việt Nam trong công tác chuẩn bị đăng cai tổ chức Năm APEC 2017; khẳng định các nền kinh tế chủ nhà các năm APEC sẽ chia sẻ kinh nghiệm với Việt Nam và hỗ trợ, đồng hành cùng Việt Nam trong quá trình chuẩn bị và tổ chức Năm APEC 2017
